Gloucester County Public Schools Educational Foundation announces race date, opportunities to support local schools

The Gloucester County Public Schools (GCPS) Educational Foundation plans to build on the success of its annual 3K and 8K Run/Walk and sponsorship campaign this year. The annual race will be held on Feb. 17, 2018 at Gloucester High School.

The Educational Foundation is upgrading the event by offering more awards for participants in the 3K and 8K, plus more family fun and food. The top five overall male/female 3K finishers and the top three overall male/female 8K finishers will receive medals, with cash awards going to overall finishers. The age group categories have been greatly expanded for 8K participants under age 15 to ensure that more students win awards, along with adding many special awards.

The Foundation is also enhancing sponsorship opportunities for individuals and businesses. “We are offering our sponsors more ways to connect with our community, our school employees and the families through social media, print and radio,” said this year’s Campaign & Event Chair Sharon Stone. “Sponsoring our race gives you the chance to let others know that you care about our schools and are investing in them. We are so pleased that Chesapeake Bank and Chesapeake Wealth Management have already agreed to be our name sponsors this year.”

For more information on the race or sponsorship, businesses or individuals may contact Carol Dehoux at (804) 693-1425 or cdehoux@gc.k12.va.us
